HIV CARE & PREVENTION

We offer a 10% discount on all our consultation services for people living with HIV (proof such as a recent prescription, clinic letter or labelled medications may be requested).

We are very conscious of the challenges people living with HIV (PLWHIV) face on a daily basis and the ever-present issue of stigmatisation. We are also aware of the value of PrEP in preventing the onward transmission of HIV.

We hope to support the needs of PLWHIV whilst preventing the onward transmission of HIV.

Are you living with HIV or do you know some one who is? Are you or they looking for a discrete and easy to access service to support your health and wellbeing needs? If your answer to any of these is yes....we could be the answer you're looking for.

There is mounting evidence that indicates that people living with HIV are much more prone to the early onset of other ailments such as hypertension and diabetes compared to the general population. On the plus side, studies have also shown that lifestyle interventions such as smoking cessation and exercise can have a significant impact on their health and well-being. However, it is important to be aware of the fact that many interventions to optimise the health and well-being of PLWHIV must revolve around the use of antiretrovirals. We take this into account in delivering all of our services to PLWHIV.

* To deliver the best possible service to you we may need to contact your specialist provider or GP, but will only do so with your consent.

HIV PREVENTION

Do you engage in anal sex? Do you engage in casual sex with multiple partners or are you worried that your partner may be cheating on you? Do you or have you had a recent sexually transmitted disease? If your answer to any of these is yes or there is any other reason you are worried about getting HIV, then PrEP could be the answer for you.

PrEP also know as Pre- exposure prophylaxis consists of two drugs called tenofovir  and emtricitabine. In clinical trials it provided up to 100% protection against HIV when it was taken as advised. If you would like to access PrEP from us, please book a minor ailment consultation or ring us for a telephone consultation.

PS: You must have had a recent sexual health screen with a kidney function test (including urine analysis). Follow up tests should also be done every 3-6 months if PrEP is used regularly. The tests can be done at your nearest sexual health clinic.
