Sexual Health (Male)

Men are notorious for ignoring health symptoms, because of their reluctance to visit the GP or other healthcare professionals. We make the process easier, less embarassing and convenient by offering a range of services and medications or supplements that can all be accessed remotely from anywhere in the country. Some of our key services for men are listed below...
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Erectile dysfunction is when a man is unable to gain or maintain an erection. It is relatively common with research indicating it can occur in about 50% of men over 40. Causes range from physical to psychological causes and poor lifestyle choices e.g. lack of exercise and a poor diet. Other medical conditions or medications can also cause ED.

ED oral medications work by increasing blood flow to the penis. They have been shown to be effective in 75% of men suffering from ED. Their effectiveness is further increased when taken alongside other lifestyle interventions and appropriate sexual stimulation.

We offer a choice of all three oral ED drugs currently on the market. The choice is somewhat dependant on suitability and the slight differences between them...

Premature Ejaculation Is believed to occur in 20 – 30 % of men (British Society of Urological Surgeons). It can start from the first sexual experience, or be acquired later in life due to risk factors like ethnic origin (more common in Black, Hispanic and Islamic men), being overweight, diabetes, stress e.t.c.

Signs of Premature Ejaculation
1. Ejaculation occuring prior to or within 1 minute of vaginal penetration
2. Inability to delay ejaculation on most vaginal penetrations
3. Rapid loss of erection after ejaculation

Premature ejaculation results in less satisfying and/ or frequency in sexual intercourse which affects self confidence and relationships. Overtime, it can lead to poor mental well-being and embarrassment. Embarassment and a distinct lack of awareness of treatment options means up to 90% of men suffer in silence with this (Premature Ejaculation Prevalence & Attitudes Survey).

Dapoxetine (Priligy®), is the only licensed medicine for this.
From £22.99
Dapoxetine is a short acting SSRI (serotonin reuptake inhibitor) drug, which alters the ejaculatory reflex via the the nervous system. It is taken on demand (i.e. when needed), as it is effective 1 to 3 hours before sexual intercourse and results in increased ejaculatory control, decreased distress, and increased satisfaction. It is effective in both life long and acquired premature ejaculation. Side effects are dose related, hence the lowest effective dose should always be taken. A review of effect is advised after the first 4 weeks (or 6 doses) of treatment.

Consider using in the following circumstances
1. Persistent or recurrent ejaculation with minimal sexual stimulation before, on or shortly after penetration and before desired
2. Personal distress or relationship challenges due to premature ejaculation
3. Poor ejaculatory control
4. History of premature ejaculation in most intercourse attempts over the last 6 months

You will need to have a telephone consultation with the pharmacist to assess your suitability before purchasing.

Male Fertility 1 in 7 couples are unable to have a child in the UK, and 50% of these cases are due to problems with the male partner. This could be due to  several factors such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, lifestyle factors, medications, genetics or environmental factors. However, the primary issue with male infertility or sub- fertility revolves around sperm. The factors driving infertility in men often impact the production, quality or delivery of sperm.

Thus, the first step in assessing male fertility is a sperm check.

We offer the SwimCount® sperm test kit. It is a high quality home test kit with the CE mark indicating it meets relevant British and EU safety, health and environmental standards. It also checks both sperm count and motility, unlike many others that only tell you your sperm count.

Although the home test kit is useful in assessing and serving as a fertility guide for men, it should not be used in isolation. Our fertility service, can offer you more support and direction with regards any fertility issues you may have.

From £39.99
